Electrical Muscle Stimulation (EMS)

EMS Body Sculpting is a non-invasive procedure that uses electrical impulses to make muscles contract, similar to how they work during exercise. These contractions help strengthen and tone the muscles while also burning fat in the targeted area. It’s often used on areas like the stomach, thighs, or arms to improve muscle definition without the need for surgery or intense workouts.

How does EMS work?

EMS body sculpting works by using electrical impulses to stimulate your muscles, causing them to contract in a way that mimics intense exercise. A device is placed on the skin over the targeted area – like the abs, thighs, or glutes – and sends these impulses deep into the muscles. These strong, repeated contractions help strengthen and tone the muscles while also boosting your metabolism and encouraging fat breakdown in the area. One session can feel like doing thousands of crunches or squats, but without the physical strain or sweat. It’s painless for most people, with a sensation similar to strong muscle vibrations or tightening. Over time, with multiple sessions, you can expect improved muscle definition and a more sculpted appearance.

What are some benefits of EMS?

  • Builds and tones muscles without strenuous exercise
  • Helps reduce stubborn fat in targeted areas
  • Improves muscle strength and endurance
  • Enhances body shape and definition
  • Non-invasive with no downtime
  • Can boost metabolism and aid in fat loss

When can I expect to see results?

You can usually start to see noticeable results from EMS Body Sculpting after about 3 to 4 sessions, though some people may feel slight improvements (like muscle firmness) even after the first treatment. More visible changes, such as better muscle tone and a more sculpted appearance, typically show up after 4 to 6 sessions, depending on your body type, the area being treated, and your lifestyle. For best results, it’s recommended to complete a full course of treatments – often 6 to 8 sessions spaced over a few weeks – and maintain a healthy diet and regular physical activity.

How long does the procedure take?

At nu-mee clinic, we offer 40 minute sessions. Longer or shorter sessions can be arranged upon request.

Does EMS hurt?

EMS Body Sculpting doesn’t usually hurt, but you’ll definitely feel it working. Most people describe the sensation as strong muscle contractions or pulses – similar to an intense workout, but without the effort. It might feel a bit strange at first, especially during your first session, but it’s generally not painful. Some people feel a mild tingling or tightness, and the intensity can be adjusted to suit your comfort level. After the treatment, you might feel a bit sore—like you’ve had a good workout—but there’s no downtime, so you can get back to your day right away.
