High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU)
High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) is a non-surgical, non-invasive procedure that uses focused sound waves to heat up and break down specific areas of tissue inside the body. It’s often used for things like tightening skin or treating certain conditions without needing cuts or surgery. The sound waves target a small area, causing the tissue to heat up and break down naturally, while leaving the surrounding areas unharmed.
How does HIFU work?
HIFU works by sending high-frequency sound waves deep below the surface of the skin to a specific layer of tissue. These waves focus on a single point, similar to how a magnifying glass focuses sunlight, generating intense heat at that exact spot. This heat causes controlled damage to the targeted tissue, which then triggers the body’s natural healing response. As a result, the damaged tissue is broken down and replaced with new, healthier tissue. In treatments like skin tightening, the heat also stimulates collagen production, helping the skin become firmer and more lifted over time — all without affecting the skin’s surface.

What are the benefits of HIFU?
- Tightening of the neck and jawline
- Improving the appearance of hooded eyelids and droopy eyes
- Contouring mid-face
- Reducing fine lines and wrinkles
- Tissue lifting and tightening
- Improvement of the epidermis
When can I expect to see results?
Some clients can see and feel the effect immediately after the procedure. For most clients, good results start to become obvious after two months as the body produces collagen and elastin. Tightening and lifting will continue, with results at a maximum after 6 months.
How long does the procedure take?
Full face will take about 45 minutes to an hour for the whole session.
Does HIFU hurt?
HIFU is a non-invasive procedure, no needles are used and there is no downtime.
You may feel a little pin prick sensation throughout the treatment as the heat passes through the hand piece. This sensation is actually the collagen fibres tightening.
